TTFN, LA.

It first started off with the hike from hell.  Thank God climbing up Cahuenga Peak wasn’t an actual metaphor for my summer. Instead of a summer filled with just rocks and Albuterol breaks, it was filled with Kardashians, Disney, Gruamann’s, Venice Beach, amazing burgers, crazy traffic and terrific new friends.

feather frenzy

A few weeks into this summer, I decided to get feather hair extensions. I decided that I would get small ones to be subtle.  Basically, so I could send pictures to my mom and she wouldn’t judge me for having blue feathers attached to my scalp. I mean, the trend was popularized by Steven Tyler. [...]

I really wish I had a time turner

My family are not big Thanksgiving people: my dad is the only one who really likes turkey, and we usually eat at our country club.  After that, we would go on a big walk, or just get ready for Black Friday.  But in 2001, my mother came up with a better idea to pass the [...]

Holy Hipster

Although I wouldn’t categorize myself as a hipster, I tend to indulge in similar things as hipsters.  I like jorts, fanny packs, and indie music.  I’ve seen the Melrose Trading Post on my trips down to Melrose Ave.  Although the flea market looked intriguing, I thought I should commit a trip just to it instead [...]

Life.Changing.

I loves me some burgers.  I’m from Chicago, and there are countless places that have amazing burgers.  I have my favs in the Chi: I love Edzo’s in Evanston, because it’s old school and simple.  DMK has remarkable beef, and I love their toppings. Out here, eeeeeveryone talks about In and Out.  I figured it [...]

Make New Friends, but Keep the Old

Last weekend, I met up with one of my best friends from childhood.  Erin and I met in kindergarten.  We lead the Butterfly Parade, played Barbies and watched Spice World.  We enjoyed being in Ms. Aliopoulis’ class for two years, battled through Ms. Paul in fifth grade, and at the end of the year, Erin [...]

It’s Not Like Riding a Bike

In high school, about half of my day was committed to the performing arts.  And I went to a traditional public high school.  Whether it was for a play, or working for a scene for class, I was always thinking about acting and performing.  After graduating from high school, I decided to major in journalism [...]

Learning Moments.

I’m well aware that part of Elon in LA is supposed to make me grow as a person, be independent, and learn about the entertainment industry.  However, my first learning experience is figuring out how to drive.  I thought I could handle driving in Los Angeles.  Then I arrived here.  I’ve been able to drive [...]
