Almost two weeks ago I was really nervous about coming to LA and unsure how I would feel about spending my summer anywhere other than home. Now I realize that nine weeks isn’t nearly enough time to see and do everything that the city has to offer! Before our internships began, my roommate Evann and I kept our days busy by seeing the sights and exploring the area and getting tickets to anything we could!
Our first night was spent at the Universal Studio’s City Walk and later in the week we walked down Hollywood Boulevard and saw the famous Kodak Theatre and Grauman’s Chinese theatre too. We also sat front row in the audience for Jimmy Kimmel Live (look for us in the beginning!), and were in the audience for the Style Network’s show “How Do I Look?” with host, Jeannie Mai.
All of these things were great to finally see and experience, but my favorite activity was going to Santa Monica last weekend and walking the boardwalk and going on rides at Pacific Park. It was the first time my feet have ever been in the Pacific Ocean, too! It’s a great spot to spend the day on the beach, take pictures, walk along the pier and people watch – and there are always performers, we saw a very talented contortionist! It was a great group activity and the view was incredible, too, especially from the ferris wheel! We have been so fortunate already to be seeing and doing as much as we have been, this is a program of a lifetime, and I can’t wait to see what else LA has to offer this summer!
