Damage Control -Mel Gibson

By now everyone has heard of Mel Gibson’s disgraceful and violent conversation with his girlfriend and the mother of his child. I was very hurt and shocked by Gibson’s remarks but questioned why I was so surprised. This is not the first time that the star has been caught using hateful language towards a group of people. This time he offered the public a double feature by not only using the n word, but also speaking violently to the mother of his child. In this way he has targeted two groups of people, African Americans and women.

I asked a PR professional what would be the best course of action for Mel Gibson and those in his camp if he wants to try to recover. To put it simply, he should hide under a rock for a long time. He’s already done too much damage to his career in recent years and if he hides we’ll forget and worry about the next star caught doing something shameful. It’s sad to think that there is only so much you can do after a certain point. I can only imagine the stress level of those on his team.
