Getty By Way of the Hollywood Hills

With only one week left before heading back to the East Coast we thought it would be appropriate to head to the Getty Museum yesterday. We figured it would be embarrassing to be in Los Angeles for an entire summer without going and I’ve been told repeatedly how gorgeous it is. However, on our way to the museum we thought we would take a d-tour to Dane Cook’s house since an unidentified person in our car happened to stumble across his address this past week. So after plugging it into our GPS we began what became a 2-hour drive high up over the city in the Hollywood Hills. The highlight was driving past an elite and exclusive party happening at a giant house in Mt. Olympus (a neighborhood home to many celebrities and socialites). All in all we definitely saw a lot of celebrities houses…we just didn’t know which ones they were or who lives there but I guess you take what you can get. We did see Dane Cook’s though, which was super cool! Eventually we tired of our Hollywood Hills tour and headed off to the Getty. While it may have taken us a while to finally get there, I’m so glad that we did. It was every bit as breathtaking as everybody said it was. The most beautiful part was definitely the architecture of the building itself but the exhibits were amazing as well. My favorite was definitely the Paris exhibit with life and luxury artifacts. I could have spent hours in there! So moral of the blog is that it may take a while to reach your final destination but it’s worth every bit of the ride.
