Something I was really looking forward to before coming out to Los Angeles was the opportunity to improve my photography skills. When I learned I’d have access to a Canon 7d, I told myself never to be without a camera around my neck. For the most part I was successful and there’s a noticeable difference in both the quality of my images and my knowledge of photography.
I found myself drawn to night photography because that seemed to be where the manual features on the 7d could be utilized the most. I took a lot of pictures, experimenting with slow shutter speeds. Not only could I take properly exposed pictures at night, but I could get creative with light and movement. Below are a few of my favorites.
These first few experiments have opened a whole new door to me that I had been hoping to explore but never could. Now that these techniques have been added to my tool belt the possibilities are endless.
